Passion

It is passion that drives our purpose; an energy that keeps us engaged in our journey to bring positive support and experiences to those we serve.

Community Engagement

The Elizabeth Centre is an organization dedicated to enhancing quality care for vulnerable individuals. In light of this goal, we support research dedicated to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias.

Alzheimer’s is an irreversible, progressive and terminal disease of the brain causing brain cell connections and the cells themselves to degenerate and die, eventually destroying memory and making simple tasks like eating and dressing impossible. As the disease progresses, some people become worried, angry, or violent. It leaves each and every victim vulnerable.

In Janet’s career, she founded the Dash to Defeat Dementia and the Dinner to Defeat Dementia; two fund raising events with dollars dedicated Dr. Sandra Black’s research team at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Janet continues to support this with our team at the Elizabeth Centre
